School Road Safety
School safety zone signs and LED signals, including flashing amber warning lights, Vehicle Activated Signs and temporary 20mph zone signs. Designed and made in the UK.
School road safety, made in-house
From flashing LED signals to part-time 20mph zones, everything here is designed and built to slow traffic where it matters most.
Microtima LED School SignalsOur original powered LED school signals warn drivers with bright, flashing amber lights at the start and end of the school day. Designed, assembled and tested in-house.
Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS)Signs that light up only when a vehicle approaches too fast, giving a clear, targeted warning without running all day. Ideal for approaches to school gates and crossings.
Part-Time 20mph Zone SignsTemporary 20mph zone signs that display during school hours, helping hold speeds down when pupils are on the move around the school run.
Programmable Timers and AppSet the timetable once and let it run. Bluetooth programmable timers pair with our Android app, with an online datafile creator and legacy Windows tool for annual scheduling.
Support, Guides and Wiring DiagramsClear user guides and wiring diagrams, plus help from the people who build the products. You're not left to work it out alone.
Proven at UK SchoolsIn use at multiple schools across the country, from a single crossing to Safer Routes to School schemes run with councils and highways teams.
School Road Safety
School Road Safety Signs and LED Signals
All of our school road safety products are exclusive to Road Signs Direct. We design, manufacture, assemble and test every product in-house.
DHF Products Ltd, owner of roadsignsdirect.co.uk and streetsignsdirect.co.uk, has been a leading manufacturer of road safety and parking electronics for over 30 years.
Why LED school signs work
Drivers respond to movement and light. A flashing amber LED sign draws the eye far better than a static one, and switching it on only at school times keeps the warning meaningful rather than something drivers learn to tune out.
The Microtima range and Vehicle Activated Signs
Our road safety range includes Safer Routes to School products like the original Microtima powered LED School Signals, temporary 20mph zone signs and Bluetooth programmable timers, alongside a wide selection of Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS).
Annual timetable programming
School signals should only run when children are about. Program the year once and the signs handle the rest:
- Download the latest release of our Android Timer Programming App.
- Access the online Datafile creator tool.
- Download the legacy Windows Datafile creator tool.
- Useful user guides and wiring diagrams.
