What are temporary road signs?

Temporary road signs give short-term instructions during road works, diversions or events. Unlike a permanent sign bolted to a post, they're made to be set up, moved and taken down as a site changes. Most sit in a frame or stand so they can stand freely on the road or verge.

Chapter 8 and BS 8442

Signing at road works in the UK follows Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual. Our rigid signs are made from Zintec aluminium and conform to BS 8442 and Chapter 8, so they meet the standard expected on public roads.

Sign frames and stands

A sign is only as good as the frame holding it up. We stock stanchion frames and folding stands sized for triangular and rectangular signs. Many fold flat, so a crew can carry several in a van and set them out in minutes.

Signs for events and private sites
